Liberty in North Korea (LiNK) is an international NGO that assists North Korean refugees in China, helping them escape through a 3,000 mile modern-day-underground-railroad, and then provides support in their new lives once they have resettled in South Korea and the United States. To date, the organization has rescued and helped over 1,000 North Korean refugees reach freedom. LiNK utilizes multiple strategies to change the narrative on North Korea. Through grassroots programs and regular engagement with the international media and policymakers, LiNK works to bring more focus to the North Korean people - the challenges they face and the ways in which they are changing their country from the bottom up. LiNK also works with young North Korean refugees to empower the next generation of storytellers, leaders and advocates for this issue.
