HBCUvc’s mission is to foster the development of inclusive innovation economies. HBCUvc accomplishes this mission by increasing the number of Black and Latinx venture capital leaders in communities where entrepreneurs face barriers in accessing investment capital. The organization hosts a venture capital fellowship program for students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Hispanic-serving institutions (HSIs) and operates a venture capital clinic that leverages the training and Fellows to support local entrepreneurs. By increasing the number of Black and Latinx decision-makers in venture capital, more entrepreneurs of color will be funded, ultimately creating job and wealth opportunities for communities of color.
