Philip Lorish is the Director of Cultural Research for Praxis. At Praxis, Philip helps founders understand how their ventures fit within emergent cultural trends and the history of Christian thought. His primary responsibility is within the Venture Lab where he guides Praxis Entrepreneurs-in-Residence through Oxford-style tutorials in their areas of interest. He holds a PhD in Theology, Ethics, and Culture from the University of Virginia where he is a fellow of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture, an MPhil in Christian Ethics from Oxford, and a BA in Philosophy from Furman. He is currently working on a book on the future of work, Our Permanent Problem: Work and Meaning in the 21st Century. Philip lives in Charlottesville, Virginia with his wife, Lisa, and their three children.
