Jorge M. Torres serves as the Dean of Pierson College, which is one of 14 undergraduate residential learning communities at Yale University. In that role, he is responsible for fostering the academic and personal wellbeing of 450+ students. Prior to working in higher education, Jorge served as an original member of the investment team at Silas Capital that partnered with the founders of consumer brands such as Casper, Boll & Branch, Ringly, Tracksmith and others. Through his affiliation with Kauffman Fellows, he is also a limited partner in Truebridge Capital Partners, a venture capital fund-of-funds. Jorge was engaged in the full-time practice of intellectual property law for a decade prior to venture capital. He received a B.S. in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry from Yale and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He also completed the Kauffman Fellows Program while at Silas Capital.
