"Jess loves working with entrepreneurs to discover their calling and pioneer new territory through their ventures. She teaches at Stanford's design school (“d.school”) where her team imagined new futures for higher ed in which students “declare a mission, not a major.” During her years at IDEO, she kickstarted its design for social impact domain and its open-source toolkit for social entrepreneurs around the globe. It was one of her greatest joys to launch the Entrepreneurship program and serve as Dean of Students at a pan-African academy in Johannesburg. She has integrated faith + innovation for over a decade, starting with a venture to Cape Town to coach small business owners. She can often be found with skilsaw in hand, building things in her backyard with her husband Bart (inaugural Praxis fellow) and two sons, with three-month-old daughter on her back."
